Food Forest Series: Building Nutrient Rich, Moisture Retaining Gardens

Help Us Build a Hugelkultur

Beginning at 9 am and continuing until noon, drop by Malden Court Community Orchard for our monthly work party, and learn about building no-till garden mounds, also called Hugelkulturs. We will turn rotted logs into rich, moisture-retaining soil and partner with plants to enrich the soil with nutrients.

• Rhythm Seed Farm will be on-site 9-11  with seeds and knowledge on how to build soil for sustainable annual harvests with bio-accumulating plants. Bring your questions or plant problems to discuss solutions.
• Bring your own cup for coffee and pastries in the morning from Refuge Coffee House

Earth Day Raffle

Stop by the Community Orchard or Tool Library during events to purchase raffle tickets for a yard clean-up crew AT YOUR HOUSE! All proceeds go towards supporting the work of Green Lents.
