Lloyd EcoDistrict Climate Resiliency Assessment Report: Vulnerabilities and Mitigation Measures for Portland’s Built Environment
April 11 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
In 2022, RWDI completed a preliminary climate resiliency assessment for the Lloyd EcoDistrict, a central city neighborhood and business district in Portland, Oregon.
The Lloyd EcoDistrict, like many other neighborhoods, will be subject to global and regional climate change impacts that will have local effects on the people, buildings, infrastructure, and natural assets of the district. While the assessment is Lloyd-specific, most of the findings and recommendations apply to communities and the built environment across the Portland metro area.
The report considers the people and infrastructure of the business district during a projected timeline over the next thirty and fifty years and identifies climate hazards based on a business-as-usual emissions scenario. The risk (likelihood and impact) of each vulnerability can be mitigated by the thoughtful application of climate resilience mitigation measures.
Join us for a lunchtime webinar on April 11, 2023, to review key learnings of the assessment report, review measures that can be implemented in the design and operations of facilities, and discuss the next steps for buildings to consider.
