FOFCW Annual Earth Day Weekend Clean-Up
April 21 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
We will be having our annual weekend stewardship clean-up event Friday April 21st and Saturday April 22nd in the Fall Creek & Winberry areas of the Willamette National Forest and possibly adjacent BLM public lands for Earth Day Weekend.
Clean-ups will happen between 9 am and 2 pm each day. You must be checked in by start time in order to participate as we caravan to sites that are usually outside of cell service. We will meet at the Old Fall Creek Tavern to check-in and register participants each morning and to check-out end of day.
Be prepared for all kinds of trash. We clean it all!
Please bring gardening gloves to wear over nitrile gloves we will provide. We have limited collection utensils so if you have a shovel, grabber, bucket and/or other useful tools for trash collection please bring those. Dress for the weather but also for safety. Close toed shoes strongly recommended. Long pants are better than shorts as we do walk through brushy off trail areas and garbage items can come in all shapes, sizes and conditions. Be prepared to get dirty.
You should bring yourself plenty of drinking water and snacks. Access to vault toilets is limited, if at all depending on location.
Everyone will be driving their own vehicle and must check in and check out for safety. We do go up spur roads so it is important to know if your vehicle can safely navigate that type of road. We drive from site to site. The sites are widely dispersed over several miles.
There may be biohazards. Please use your best judgement and if you do not know or are uncomfortable please communicate with a team leader. We will be giving instructions prior to heading out.
We are family friendly. Children must be under adult supervision at all times.
