Urban Nature Partners is hosting a clean up event this Earth Day at Rocky Butte Park, home of perhaps the most accessible outdoor rock climbing area in Portland. It’s eccentric and gritty, located in a fairly wild state park at the center of a major metropolitan area.
After a period without attentive management, these urban climbing walls have gotten a bit of a rep for its broken glass and other debris. We’re asking the local community to join us in removing some of the trash left behind, providing snacks and needed supplies to our nearby houseless neighbors, and creating a more welcoming environment for us all to enjoy.
We will be filling bags with trash and moving it to the end of the trail with wheelbarrows for pick up. Please bring a wheelbarrow if able and willing!
