From 2019–2025, Earth Day Oregon united partners statewide to spark collective action and elevate the nonprofits that make Earth Day their every day.

In June, 2025 the Earth Day Oregon Foundation closed its doors and the annual campaign it had organized since 2019, but the spirit behind the organization remains as nonprofits, businesses and Oregonians continue to build community and partnerships in support of Earth Day. If you came to this site hoping to learn how you or your organization could take part in collective climate action, we suggest you visit Oregon Climate Action Hub.

Earth Day Oregon Inspired Community Connection

The hundreds of nonprofits, thousands of businesses, and hundreds of thousands of Oregonians who teamed up through Earth Day Oregon know that when we work together, we get more done. Although the formal Earth Day Oregon annual campaigns have come to an end, the ethos behind it lives on as people continue to build community and rally support for our environment.

Nonprofits

Any nonprofit in Oregon with a dedicated concern for the health of the planet was welcome to participate, this was assessed by asking potential nonprofit partners to identify which of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) most aligned with their work. This welcoming approach created a broad coalition of nonprofit partners that included organizations focused on clean air, land, and water as well as organizations focused on gender equality, zero hunger and quality education. Climate change is a wicked problem and will take everyone’s efforts to begin to solve.

Businesses

Oregon businesses that aligned with the goals of the campaign were invited to be official partners of the Earth Day Oregon campaign by supporting nonprofit partners with a meaningful monetary donation and often support in raising their partners’ visibility for their causes in honor of Earth Day.

Some businesses also chose to sponsor the campaign, making a contribution directly to Earth Day Oregon, which in turn supported our staff person, marketing efforts like our website, and even mini-grants to nonprofit organizations.

Sponsors and business partners were promoted by Earth Day Oregon in the statewide media and PR campaign that culminated in April. They also received campaign resources and media opportunities and were invited to attend the partners’ mixer event with nonprofit organizations in early April to kick off Earth Month.

Everyone!

Individuals took part in the collective action of Earth Day Oregon by donating directly to nonprofit partners and volunteering with Earth Day focused events to boost nonprofit partners’ critical work to advance sustainability in our state. Earth Day Oregon hosted an online one-stop action hub during April to help you find opportunities to give, volunteer, and engage. If you’re looking for a way to get involved with climate action now, Oregon Climate Hub is a great resource!
